The Winter Garden Heritage Foundation operates two museums, both of which are free. The museums are run mostly by volunteers who are dedicated to preserving the history and vitality of Winter Garden. The Heritage Museum is housed in the 1918 train depot that served the Atlantic Coast Line and is located on the main street that runs through the historic downtown. It contains items from the citrus industry, memorabilia, and Native American artifacts. The gift shop sells nostalgic and citrus-related items. The Central Florida Railroad Museum is located one block south of the main street. It is housed in a 1913 train depot that once served the Tavares and Gulf Railroad and features a 1938 Fairmont motor car, a velocipede hand car, and a Clinchfield caboose. The museum also features a large collection of photos and dining car china.
