The cultural center of the city of Maitland is Lake Lily Park which is the location of the annual Maitland Fine Arts Festival, the Sunday Farmers Market (9am-2pm) and monthly movies in the park. A paved path and boardwalk encircles the lake and runs past a shady playground, picnic tables, and a gazebo. There is also a railroad track that runs next to the park which makes it fun for those who like to watch the trains rumble by. Lake Lily Park is the location of the Waterhouse Residence and Carpentry Shop. The Maitland Art and History Association runs a cluster of small but interesting museums in a picturesque setting. Even though the museums are tiny, you could make an afternoon of visiting all four, then take the scenic drive along the shore of Lake Sybelia to the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey.
