Lake Tohopekaliga (nicknamed Lake Toho) is the headwaters of the Everglades and is considered to be one of the most beautiful lakes in Florida. The area is a popular attraction for those who love nature, fishing, bird watching, photography, and gator spotting. Boggy Creek Airboats are the perfect way to explore the pristine wilderness of Lake Taho. Knowledgeable guides take guests on a thrilling ride across the shallow waters to where alligators, birds, and other wildlife hang out, then they slow down for a close-up look before speeding off again. Back on shore, guests have a unique opportunity to learn about traditional Native American life at an authentic replica of a Jororo Tribal Village. Chickee Huts, genuine artifacts, and live demonstrations by the Big Mountain Family reveal a fascinating glimpse into how the original Native Americans from the Kissimmee area used to live. The 32-acre lakeshore park at Boggy Creek can be explored by bicycle or buggy which are available for rent. They also have a baby gator pond and a fossil and gem mining experience for kids.
