Lake Eola is Orlando’s signature park and features a large, ornate fountain in the middle of the lake. Locals enjoy the .9-mile path that encircles the lake where you will find a Japanese-style pagoda, a playground, and a few restaurants. Swan boats are available for rent as well. The Relax Grill at Lake Eola is a popular restaurant that offers outdoor seating right next to the lake.
The Walt Disney Amphitheater on the shore of Lake Eola hosts plays, movies, and concerts throughout the year. Favorite events are summertime festivals such as Shakespeare in the Park and MoviEola, an outdoor film series. Many of the shows are free or are relatively inexpensive.
The Downtown Orlando Farmers Market is every Sunday from 10-4. Many local vendors participate selling handcrafted items, art, gourmet foods, plants, and fresh produce. Enjoy live music and outdoor dining as well as a wine and beer garden. Every third Sunday is Arts in the Park.
